Asian Cookware
Add that authentic touch with Asian cookware.
Adding Asian cookware pieces to the kitchenware that already exists in your home is a
great way to expand your horizons in both cooking styles and eating habits as well. While some of the big name
brand companies like Farberware Cookware or Kitchen Aid Cookware might not have anything particularly special to
offer, there are a number of manufacturers who specialize in high quality Asian kitchenware for your
home.
Asian Cookware Recommendations
Wok cookware is one piece of Asian cooking culture that just about every manufacturer has
a stake in. While more authentic cooking pieces tend to be put on the market by specialty designers only, the wok
which is similar to a frying pan has transcended all boundaries.
One great example is Wearever cookware. While they don't specialize in Asian cooking
tools, they do have a popular model of wok that is just under 12 inches in diameter and about 7 inches deep. The
Wear-Ever Wok is an affordable and high quality piece of hard anodized cookware that is made of dent resistant
aluminum alloy.
Norpro is another company that has gotten into the wok cookware sets market even though
Asian cooking isn't their focus. They have a popular 10 piece wok starter set that includes a 14 inch steel wok,
lid, burner ring, tempura rack, cooking chopsticks and a variety of other utensils that are specially designed for
cooking in your new wok. Norpro even includes 10 pairs of dining chopsticks to help you make your meal even more
authentic.
Joyce Chen is the number one name on the market when it comes to authentic Asian cookware
sets and especially bamboo steamers. While this company does have a number of stainless steel steamers available,
they are really known for their authentic bamboo steamer sets. With designs including the 4 inch two pack of dim
sum steamers, 3 piece stacking bamboo steamers in sizes from 6 to 10 inches and even larger 12 inch steamers you
are sure to find the perfect bamboo steamer for your needs.
While modern rice cookers may not be a classically Asian method of cooking, rice most
certainly is a staple in Asian themed menus. Kitchen aid cookware, who generally doesn't branch into the Asian
kitchenware market, does have a few impressive models of slow cookers that are excellent for rice preparation. For
example, their 7 quart slow cooker packs 400 watts of power, a 10 hour timer and five different temperature
settings to help you cook your rice and keep it warm for hours at a time.
Helen Chen offers a more authentic rice cooking tool with her line of porcelain rice
cookers. These cookers are 2-1/2 quarts in size and available with either bamboo or steel handles. Their elegant
designs allow them to act as a cooking container and a serving dish as well, but they do require hand
washing.
If you are looking for a way to make cooking and dining fun and exciting, then bringing a
few pieces of Asian kitchenware into your home is a great way to do it. From bamboo steamers, to woks for stir fry,
to authentic porcelain rice cookers, there is no shortage of ways that you can spice up meal time with Asian
cookware.
